Our Protection District
The Moose Lake Fire District is responsible for responding to fire and EMS emergency calls in our protection district, including the City of Moose Lake, Moose Lake Township, Silver Township, and Windemere Township. This amounts to a 108 square mile area of responsibility.
We respond to structure, wildland, and vehicle fires as well as vehicle and ATV/UTV crashes. We are also trained to respond to medical, water, and ice rescue emergencies.
We have mutual aid agreements with all the other fire departments in Carlton County as well as a few in Pine County. Moose Lake Fire District has an auto-page agreement with Kettle River Fire Dept.
What We Respond To
Structure Fires
Full suppression response to residential, commercial, and industrial structure fires throughout the City of Moose Lake and surrounding townships.
Wildland & Vehicle Fires
Rapid deployment for grass, brush, and forest fires as well as vehicle fires on roads, highways, and the Interstate.
Vehicle & ATV/UTV Crashes
Extrication and scene management for vehicle accidents, including ATV and UTV crashes on trails and rural roads throughout our 108 sq. mile district.
Medical Emergencies
First-responder medical assistance while EMS is en route. Our members are trained to respond to a wide range of medical emergencies.
Water & Ice Rescue
Water and ice rescue response using our Zodiac boat and trained rescue personnel — protecting residents and visitors on Moose Lake and surrounding waterways.
Mutual Aid
We maintain mutual aid agreements with all Carlton County fire departments and several in Pine County, including an auto-page agreement with Kettle River Fire Dept.
ISO Rating: 6B
The Moose Lake Area Fire Protection District currently holds an ISO rating of 6B for all dwellings within 5 miles of our Fire Hall at 600 Hwy 73. A lower ISO rating can mean lower homeowner's insurance premiums.
