Our firefighters are more than first responders — they're active neighbors, educators, and partners in keeping the Moose Lake community safe and connected.
The Moose Lake Fire District firefighters are very active in our community. We participate in Fire Prevention Week, National Night Out, Prom Week Accident Awareness, the Moose Run Marathon, and the Moose Lake Triathlon — to name a few.
Each October, our members participate in national Fire Prevention Week activities, spreading fire safety awareness throughout the community.
Every August we join neighborhoods across the country for National Night Out — building relationships between first responders and the residents we serve.
We partner with local schools during Prom Week to demonstrate the real consequences of distracted and impaired driving, helping keep young drivers safe.
Our crew provides safety and emergency standby support at the Moose Run Marathon and the Moose Lake Triathlon, keeping participants and spectators safe.
Working alongside the Kettle River Fire Department, we visit local schools to teach kids about fire safety, evacuation plans, and the importance of working smoke detectors.
We partner with the American Red Cross to install free smoke alarms in the homes of our residents upon request — because every home deserves working protection.

We respond to structure, wildland, and vehicle fires as well as vehicle and ATV/UTV crashes. We are also trained to respond to medical, water, and ice rescue emergencies.
Our fire prevention program — developed with the aid of the Kettle River Fire Department — brings the importance of fire safety directly to kids. School children learn about fire safety, evacuation plans, and the critical role of smoke detectors.
National Night Out in August has become a regular event for us — a chance to connect with neighbors and strengthen the bond between our department and the people we protect.

We partner with the American Red Cross to install free smoke alarms in the homes of our residents when requested. Contact us to schedule an installation.
